Welcome to Sparklestia ✨

There was no big moment. Just a quiet realisation that I hadn’t really been taking care of myself – not in the way I actually wanted to. Somewhere along the way I’d stopped showing up for myself. Not consciously. Just gradually, the way these things happen.

So I asked myself the smallest possible question: what’s one thing, just one, I could do differently?

Skincare came to mind. Korean skincare specifically – I’d always been drawn to it, partly because the market is genuinely research-driven. Clinical formulations, skin barrier focus, actual innovation. It felt like something I could actually trust.

So one evening I added a step to my usual bathroom routine. Nothing big. I picked up a cleanser and a moisturiser from Some By Mi – their acne line, because it looked considered and serious. I didn’t do a full skin analysis. I didn’t spend three hours on ingredient lists. I just started.

It wasn’t even the right series for my skin, actually. 🤷‍♀️ But that wasn’t really the point. The point was that I’d done something small and deliberate, just for me. And that felt like enough.

Sparklestia isn’t an expert’s blog. I’m not a dermatologist, I’m not a beauty editor. I’m Risha – someone who went deep into the skincare and k-beauty rabbit hole because she needed a small act of self-care and ended up genuinely fascinated.

This is a warm, unhurried space. Not perfect. Just honest – the products I actually use, the routines that have worked for my skin, the things I’ve learned and the things I’ve gotten wrong. If you’re looking for a friend who’s done the research and will tell you exactly what she thinks, you’re in the right place. 💚

You’ll find Korean skincare – routines, ingredients, products that are actually worth it. Makeup that feels like skin, not a mask. Self-care and slow living. The kind of mornings that feel like yours.

I started this blog for the same reason I started the skincare routine – as a small, deliberate act of showing up for myself.

If you found your way here – welcome. I’m glad you’re here. ✦
